Our dear Lois Ball, my mother-in-law, passed away unexpectedly this past week. As many of you know, Lois was left a quadriplegic with no ability to speak after a terrible crime in Columbia, South Carolina five years ago, when a fleeing bank robber involved in a high speed car chase hit her car, which was stopped at an intersection traffic light. She lived the past five years with strength and courage in New York, continuing to touch the lives of those who surrounded her. Ma was an incredible woman. She dedicated her life to education and helping others. She was a wonderful grandmother to five loving granddaughters and for me personally, an incredible parent and friend—more so then I ever expected. I love you Ma. May you finally be at peace.
