Nathan, Jay and family - Barbara Bahny was a most important person in my life. I will always remember her wit, elegance, beautiful spirit and grace that carried her through her everyday life. It was an interesting dichotomy because there was nothing everyday about Barbara. She was of the world in such a refined way. I will miss her wisdom, our political conversations and just being with her. I am overcome with sadness that I did not know the extent of the illness of my dear friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you all - we have gained much by knowing Barbara and lost more by her departure. May she rest in peace! Gayela

To Nathan, Elizabeth and the Bahny Family: Our hearts are broken on the loss of Barbara. Just one year ago we were all together in Acapulco and now she is lost to the ages. Our world won't be as much fun, as bright, as cheery without her. She was such a bright star of hope and joy and always had time for me and all her friends at the opera. Just a few months ago she came up with the name of our new opera company--The Washington Opera Society. This is your legacy Barbara. Every time we perform we'll see your beautiful smiling face in the audience. We love you Barbara. Until We Meet Again, Michael, Stefan, and Rafy in Washington

So saddened to hear of Barbara's passing -- she was full of life and busy as a bee, quite literally. I will always remember her passion for her work and we will miss her in New York City.
