Age 80, died peacefully free from pain, on June 9, 2015 with daughter Lisa Gottlieb at her side. She is also survived by her daughter Pamela Ahrens, son Dr. David Scher and wife Ronni, sister Marcia Bernstein, brother Gerald Scher, grandchildren Justin, Brett, Jamie, Evan, Matthew, Jonathan, Carly, great-grandson Carter, and loving members of her extended family and friends. Marlene attended Lafayette High School, Skidmore and Brooklyn Colleges. Her life included being a translator at the 1964 World's Fair, a singles' events planner, and founder of the first video dating company in NYC. She obtained licenses in real estate, securities, and insurance. Proud of her professional accomplishments but not personally fulfilled, she turned to her love of acting. An accomplished actor, she was a member of SAG-AFTRA and a voting member of AMPAS. Services will be at Riverside Memorial Chapel 180 West 76th Street on Thursday June 11 at 9:45am
