Age 89, died on Nov. 15 at home. Born in Brooklyn, he was raised in Denver, Colorado, and spent happy years at the National Home for Jewish Children. He served in the Navy during World War II as a radio technician at sea. After graduating from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, he completed his psychiatric training at the New York State Psychiatric Institute at Columbia University. He was a member of the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute and was a practicing psychoanalyst for many years in New York City. Dan was also an accomplished tennis player. He was much loved by his wife of 47 years, Zuzana; Jessica and Alex, the children from his previous marriage to Helga Justman Miklos, and their spouses, Jack Lerner and Sandy Hoch Justman; step-sons David and Philip Boroff and Philip’s partner, Michelle Kaske; and his grandchildren Eli, Michael and Claire. Services are Wednesday, Nov. 18, 11:15 am, Riverside Chapel, 333 Amsterdam Ave. at 76 St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
