Jeffrey Todd Epstein Evans, 58, passed away on Thursday, December 3rd, 2015 in New York City.
Jeffrey was born on January 17th, 1957 in Forest Hills, NY to parents Irving and Ina Epstein. A brilliant student, he attended Adelphi University, where he graduated cum laude with a degree in biology and finance, and went on to Chicago Medical School, where he was a DeWitt Wallace Hypertension Research Fellow. Jeffrey later developed a passion for commercial real estate and finance with Cooper Horowitz. He became a respected business leader as Senior Manager of Commercial Real Estate at Trump Mortgage, Managing Director of Chesterfield Faring, and a successful entrepreneur as Founding Partner of Safe Haven International. Jeffrey cared deeply about philanthropic causes, and shared his expertise in corporate responsibility with the United Nations, as well the American Red Cross of Greater New York.
He met the love of his life, Joy VanDerKar, in 1997, and after a four year courtship they continued their love affair into their marriage on January 11th, 2001 at Temple Emanu-El, Fifth Avenue. A man of honor and loved by so many, Jeffrey will be remembered for his pure heart, his jovial wit, his loving nature, and his effervescent personality. He is survived by his eternally devoted and loving wife, Joy Evans, his sisters-in-law Kimberly and Amy, and his adoring nieces and nephews, Chelsea, Lindey, Hezekiah, and Christian and the Epstein and Taub families.
