SCHWARTZ GOODMAN--Edith, 93, of New York City died April 12, 2016. Edith was born to the late Emmanuel and Sarah Doctorow Schwartz of Pelham, NY. She received a BA from Wheaton College, MAs from Columbia and Yeshiva, and a PhD from NYU. Edith was a successful psychoanalyst and clinical supervisor for 40+ years on the Upper West Side of NYC. Admired by her colleagues and students, she was an active member of the New York Freudian Society and the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and lifelong nature and animal lover, Edith had a brilliant mind, adored her work, and was passionate about helping people understand and better their lives. Survived by stepchildren Shelley Goodman and Robert Kahn. Preceded in death by husband Sol Goodman, stepson Stephen Goodman, and siblings Dan Schwartz and Bob Schwartz.
