Passed away peacefully at home at age 99 after celebrating 75 years of romantic marriage to husband, Herbert Rubin. A New Yorker her entire life, graduate of Hunter College HS, Hunter College (Hall of Fame Award) and NYU Law School (Law Review). A member of the Bar for 75 years, she was a pioneer and role model among women in the law and among women judges, she was an Assistant District Attorney, Assistant Corporation Counsel, a Supreme Court Justice (1973 to 1992), Chief Judge of NYC Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (1993-2000). Member of the Boards of Trustees of NYU Law School, NY State Supreme Court, Jewish Lawyers Guild, National Association of Women Judges (President NY Section), Mental Health Association (NY), and Conservative Synagogue of 5th Ave. Mother of Barbara Brown Cooper (Peter), Caroline Temlock Teichman (Marc), Donald Rubin (Carol), Grandmother of Jessica, Tom, Rebecca, Joshua, Emily, Aviva, Arianna, and Len; Great-Grandmother (Bubbie) of Jarred, Zachary, Shaina, Erik, Jack, Noam, Adeline, Scarlett, Arden, Linden, Melissa, Stephanie and Rachel; and Great Great-Grandmother of Gabriella and Jasmine. Service Sunday, December 11th, 9:30 am at “The Riverside,” 76 St. and Amsterdam Ave. Donations in Judge Rubin’s memory to a charity of your choice.
